Server Supply, Installation & Upgrades in Oman

Business servers selected around your applications, users and growth. Compare hardware, deployment, migration and support in one proposal.

A Business Server Supplier, with Deployment Planning

Buying a server is not just choosing a processor and a price. Your ERP, accounting database, shared files and remote users determine the capacity, operating system and recovery arrangements you need. Rawat Al Makan helps businesses in Muscat and across Oman compare server supply and installation around these requirements. For an integrated compute-and-storage cluster, review hyperconverged infrastructure options.

Plan a new deployment, replace ageing hardware or expand an existing server. We separate the hardware specification from licences, migration and ongoing support so you can see what is included. For hypervisor selection, workload consolidation and virtual-machine moves, see server virtualization and migration. For shared appliances and storage expansion, compare our business NAS and storage solutions.

Multi-Brand Server & Platform Options

Compare hardware and operating-system requirements separately. Current models, sourcing, vendor authorization where applicable, licensing and warranty coverage are confirmed before purchase.

Compare PowerEdge rack and tower servers for business applications and virtual workloads. Review processor options, memory expansion, drive bays, RAID and management features in the proposed configuration.

Review ProLiant configurations against workload requirements. Confirm supported components, management entitlements, operating-system compatibility and the warranty or support package available for Oman.

Scope Windows Server editions, roles and applicable access licences independently of hardware. Check application support and virtualisation rights before choosing a licence package.

Have a Lenovo ThinkSystem or another brand in mind? Share the requirement for a sourcing and compatibility review rather than assuming every model is available.

Rack and tower servers supporting business applications and users

Servers for ERP, Accounting & Database Applications

Start with the application vendor's supported specification, then review real usage. Concurrent users, database growth, reporting jobs and integration workloads can change the resources needed beyond a minimum installation requirement.

  • Review processor cores, memory and storage performance together.
  • Identify database licences and supported Windows or Linux versions.
  • Account for scheduled jobs, peak usage and expected growth.
  • Agree application-vendor involvement and acceptance tests.

We do not promise a performance improvement from a hardware upgrade without understanding the workload and its bottlenecks.

Windows Server, Active Directory & File Server Setup

Scope a server around the roles it must perform: directory services, DNS, DHCP, file sharing or application hosting. A working installation also needs documented access, update responsibilities and recovery arrangements.

  • Review the existing domain, users and service accounts.
  • Plan file-share permissions and approved administrator roles.
  • Check Group Policy and application dependencies before changes.
  • Include configuration documentation and handover.

Cloud identity and MFA are related but different requirements; see identity and access management. Domain-controller roles and workload separation are decided during design.

Discuss Server Configuration

Rack Server or Tower Server?

Compare the complete site requirements, not just the chassis. A server rack is an enclosure; a rack server is the computer installed inside it. Confirm both when requesting a quotation.

Business server format selection
FormatPotential fitCheck before ordering
Tower serverSmaller deployments without an existing rack.Secure placement, noise, ventilation, power and expansion options.
Rack serverDedicated racks, multiple systems and organised infrastructure.Rack depth, rails, rack units, cable clearance, cooling and power feeds.
Virtualised hostMultiple supported workloads on shared physical hardware.Hypervisor support, licensing, memory, storage, backups and failure impact.

Dual power supplies or RAID can improve resilience in a suitable design. They do not by themselves provide application failover or disaster recovery.

Server Installation, Migration & Upgrade Services

Supply & Installation

Agree the bill of materials, delivery arrangements, site readiness and build tasks. Confirm disks, rails, networking, licences and warranty rather than treating optional components as included.

Old-to-New Server Migration

Inventory applications, data, shares and dependencies. Plan a verified backup, pilot or test restore, cutover window and rollback. Keep the source available until agreed acceptance checks pass.

Memory & Storage Upgrades

Check the service tag or model, installed components, firmware and supported expansion. Disk or RAID changes need an explicit data-protection plan; matching capacity alone does not establish compatibility.

Maintenance & Warranty Review

Review coverage expiry, vendor support eligibility and responsibility for updates. For recurring administration or on-site assistance, define tasks and hours through IT support and AMC.

Virtualisation or platform migration can be scoped within the project. Application compatibility and licence rights are assessed first; we do not assume that all legacy systems can be moved unchanged.

Business Server Prices in Oman: Compare the Full Configuration

A low starting price may exclude disks, sufficient memory, operating-system licences or implementation. An itemised quotation makes server purchase options comparable without relying on an outdated price for a different specification.

  • Processor, memory, usable storage, RAID and network interfaces.
  • Windows Server or other platform licences and applicable CALs.
  • Warranty term, support coverage and replacement arrangements.
  • Rack accessories, UPS requirements, installation and migration.
  • Backup software, separate backup storage and recurring support.

For an initial quote, share the application names, approximate users, current data size, existing server model and expected growth. Do not send passwords or confidential databases through the enquiry form.

Protect the Server Before Go-Live

Agree separate backups, restore tests, patching ownership and protected administrator access before users depend on the new system. RAID is not backup, and hardware redundancy does not protect against every outage.

Plan backup and recovery, supported server endpoint protection and network firewall controls alongside deployment. Remote administration and exceptions should be explicitly approved.

Business Server FAQs

1. Which business server brands can I compare in Oman?

Discuss Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant options, or share another preferred brand and specification for review. We confirm sourcing, current availability, compatibility and warranty arrangements before quoting. Brand inclusion is not a claim of authorization for every vendor.

2. How much does a business server cost in Oman?

Price depends on the processor, memory, disks, RAID controller, networking, operating system, licences and warranty term. Installation, migration and support are separate scope items. Compare complete configurations rather than a starting price for an empty chassis.

3. Should I buy a rack server or a tower server?

A tower may suit a smaller installation without a dedicated rack. Rack servers suit organised server rooms and larger deployments, but require compatible rails, power, cooling and space. Workload requirements and the site environment should decide the format.

4. Can you install Windows Server and Active Directory?

We can scope Windows Server installation, domain services, DNS, DHCP, file shares and permissions for your environment. Edition, licensing, application compatibility, administrator access and migration dependencies are reviewed before implementation.

5. Can you move applications and files from an old server?

We can review the source server, application-vendor requirements, data, permissions and dependencies to plan a migration. The proposal defines testing, a cutover window, rollback and user acceptance. Some legacy applications need a vendor-assisted upgrade or reinstall.

6. Does RAID replace server backup?

No. RAID can help maintain availability during certain disk failures, depending on the configuration. It does not replace separate backups for deletion, ransomware, corruption or loss of the server. Backup and restore testing should be planned alongside installation.
